In 1953 the inventor of the Shopsmith 10er developed an interesting industrial drill that's unlike anything I've ever seen. I found the patent for this some time ago and the base shown was in fact something I've seen in use at the Shopsmith factory in Dayton. I always assumed that this was as far as it had gone, but I was wrong. Below is a sales brochure for this tool that I found and purchased recently on eBay.
